That is what Aidan had to say about his first day of Kindergarten! All three of my school kids seem to love their teacher and had a perfect first day back and first day, period, for Mr. Aidan. Aidan's favorite thing was everything. Makenna's favorite thing was art class. And Noah said he didn't know his favorite thing because he liked it all. Now I just have to get used to the idea of them being gone for nearly 8 hours of my day :(
No matter how cloudy it is outside, Aidan cannot keep his eyes open for pictures... so he always keeps them closed until I say open... he's a strange little man :)
Can't believe summer is over and I have a Kindergartener, 2nd grader, and 4th grader (and a preschooler)! I am down to one at home with me... first time in over 8 years! I'm going to miss them like crazy but at least I have these pictures to make me smile :)
For Makenna's eighth birthday party, she chose to have a watercolor party, which ended up being an amazing choice. Honestly, the reason I ended up loving it so much was mostly the fact that she was able to watercolor the decorations along with the plates, cups, place-mats herself. (She literally did the ones put up as decoration with 20 minutes left until party time, so they can obviously be done quickly if need be! :) This was even better due to the fact that we only had returned from our vacation to Minnesota a few days prior to the party. She was even able to make the banner herself minus cutting out the triangles and stringing it together. The girls seemed to have an amazing time, too! Here are some of the highlights.
The sticker says "Paint, Create, & Celebrate!"
And here's the third project we did that wasn't dry enough to take pictures of the kids with. We used elmer's glue, sprinkled salt on top, poured off the extra, and then tapped the paint on it and the color follows the design. Pretty cool at the time but when it dries, the salt kind of flakes off.
Here are the other things the kids got to take home besides the other two canvas projects.
I got the watercolors, canvases and decorative lanterns at Michael's and the watercolor notebooks at Target.
